Suzanne Siebert masthead

Suzanne Siebert is a Berkeley, California based technical writer and technical consultant in the field of intellectual property with degrees in chemistry and law. Following her B.A. in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, she worked six years as a technical writer for a high vacuum and electronics company.

She received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco, was admitted to the California and Patent Bars, and cofounded an intellectual property law firm in San Francisco in 1982. She practiced as a patent and trademark attorney for 23 years, and wrote hundreds of chemical, biochemical, and pharmaceutical patents for clients including The University of California, Stanford University, Hewlett Packard, and The Clorox Company.

She established
Symbolic Solutions in 2001 and has worked with scientists to analyze and organize their technical and research information and to create text and illustrations for documentation, product manuals and client brochures in printed publications and for the Web. She serves a select number of sophisticated clients as an intellectual property consultant.

She serves as Webmaster for the East Bay Recorder Society. As a hobby she plays period woodwinds. Below left she is playing a baroque oboe at a recital and below middle she is playing a baroque octave bassoon at a 2015 early music workshop.
